This one-day hackathon brings students from diverse backgrounds together to contribute through research, design, storytelling, community knowledge or coding. Problem statement/01

Gen AI Deception

Deepfakes, synthetic voices and AI-generated content can make it difficult to tell what is real and who to trust.

How might we help people recognise and verify AI-generated deception before they believe, share or act on it?

Problem statement/02

Manipulation & Scams

Scammers exploit trust, emotions and urgency through job offers, personal relationships and convincing messages.

Problem statement

How might we help people recognise manipulation and pause before sharing personal information or transferring money?

Problem statement/03

Technology-Enabled Harms

Cyberbullying, doxxing, harassment and non-consensual sharing can leave people feeling exposed and unsure how to respond.

How might we help people prevent, report and respond to online abuse while protecting their privacy and safety?

Problem statement/04

Mental Health & Online Harms

Online abuse, scams and harmful content can affect confidence, emotional well-being and a person's sense of safety.

Problem statement

How might we help young people affected by online harms access support, feel less alone and rebuild their confidence?
